From the Spotlight Sale to the Show Ring — and Now a New Arrival!

A few years ago, I treated myself to an early Christmas present — a lovely stirk named Blydale Chief Lynn, purchased at the Spotlight Sale in Carlisle.

Over the past few seasons, I’ve had great fun taking Lynn out to a range of local agricultural shows, where she’s always turned a few heads. The highlight so far came in June 2024 at the Royal Highland Show, where she stood fifth in a large class alongside Walton Lea Apple in third. It was a proud moment and a fantastic experience to see her shine on such a big stage.

Fast forward to this past week, and Lynn has reached another exciting milestone — her very first calf, born on Wednesday, 22nd October. Both mum and calf are doing well, and we couldn’t be more delighted.

We can’t wait to see how this fresh-calved heifer develops over the coming months — and of course, to watch her calf grow and follow in her mother’s footsteps. It’s always rewarding to see the next chapter unfold, especially with one that’s been part of the journey from the start.
