It’s been another lively week here on the farm, with young farmer Jessica Kinloch (age 16) leading the way. Jessica sent some of her goats off to United Auctions at Stirling, where they were sold to Jamie Pirie for an impressive £150 each. A fantastic result for her stock and great encouragement for a young person making her mark in farming.
Monday the 1st of December was equally busy as we moved store lambs to both United Auctions, Stirling and Caledonian Marts, Stirling. The lambs sold well across the board, with Caledonian Marts paying £5 more per head, showing strong demand and a positive outlook as we move into winter.
Rounding off the week was a smart fresh-calved Ayrshire heifer heading into Craig Wilson Limited in Ayr on Tuesday. She made a solid £1950, reflecting her quality and the continued interest in well-bred dairy cattle.
